Vodafone UK Announce HTC Android

An announcement by Vodafone has torn the wrappers off the HTC Magic Android powered smartfone in April.

Having launched a new internet site for the telephone, exhibiting directions and details, and allowing people to register for updates and pricing info. The firm recounted at Mobile World Congress in Feb the HTC Sorcery would ship in white in the United Kingdom, Spain and France, black in Germany and in both colors in Italy.

The telephone is the second to supply the Android operating system, after T-Mobile launched the G1 in December 2008.

It offers HSDPA, GPRS and Wi-Fi connectivity, GPS, a 4-megapixel camera with autofocus but no flash, and native support for applications like Google Maps and Google search.

The handset includes 512Mb of ROM, 192Mb of RAM and a microSD card slot.

We can expect a similar announcement from Sprint in the US over the next few months - with the G2.
